PILOT JOURNEY

Student Pilots

If you’re in training and overwhelmed by the written test, oral, or checkride, these flashcards are your secret weapon.

Licensed Pilots

Every 24 months you’ll face a flight review. These cards make staying sharp way easier than digging through textbooks or rewatching ground school videos.

Instrument/Commercial/Beyond

Every advanced rating builds directly on your Private Pilot knowledge. If your foundation isn’t sharp, you’ll feel it when studying for Instrument, Commercial, or CFI. These flashcards make it easy to keep your fundamentals solid - so higher-level training is smoother, faster, and far less stressful. Plus, it will help you in every future flight review!

Flight Instructors & Ground Instructors

Use these cards to quiz students and make lessons more effective!

Future Pilots

Even if you haven’t started training, these give you a head start and keep you motivated for the journey ahead.

Hey, I’m Charlie

I’ve had my pilot’s license for almost 20 years, and there’s one thing that’s always been hard: remembering all of the book knowledge. I can’t tell you how many lessons and checkrides I walked into feeling stressed.

But the problem didn’t stop there… Every time a flight review has come up, it’s really hard to figure out where to start studying again. It’s an uncomfortable process that repeats itself every two years.

So, I spent 15 months building these comprehensive flashcards to solve my own problem, knowing that other pilots feel the same pain I do. I also had a talented group of CFI’s spend months with me reviewing, editing, and approving every single card in the deck of over 350.

It was a massive effort.

But now I have the study system that I wish I had 20 years ago. And I’m confident they’ll help you, too, because they’re built by someone who’s felt the exact same challenges you’re facing.

My hope is that they’ll make your journey a little less stressful, and help you walk into your next exam or flight review with calm confidence.

Have questions? We have answers

I’m a student pilot. Are these right for me?

Absolutely. These flashcards are perfect for student pilots at any stage of training. They cover the key knowledge areas from the FAA’s Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM). Instead of feeling overwhelmed by thousands of pages, you’ll build confidence and fluency in the language of aviation, one card at a time.

I’m already a Private Pilot (or higher). Are these still useful?

Yes! Even after you earn your license, you’ll need to stay sharp for flight reviews every 24 months. These cards make it easy to refresh fundamentals without digging through old textbooks or rewatching ground school videos. Many pilots also use them while working toward Instrument or Commercial ratings, because all advanced training builds on Private Pilot knowledge.

I’m training for my Instrument, Commercial, or CFI. Will these help?

Definitely. While these cards focus on Private Pilot fundamentals, that knowledge is the foundation for every higher rating. They’re a great way to review concepts you haven’t seen in a while, keep gaps from slowing you down, and prepare for flight reviews or teaching others.

I haven’t started flight training yet. Should I buy these now?

Yes,  but with a caveat. These aren’t meant to teach you everything from scratch. They’re most effective once you’ve had some exposure in ground school or through a textbook. That said, many future pilots buy them early to get familiar with key concepts, so when training starts, they already feel ahead. Once you’re in the thick of training, you’ll be very glad that you already have these cards!

What topics do the cards cover?

The 350+ cards are based on what every Private Pilot is expected to know. They’re divided into six color-coded sections:

  • Regulations
  • Plane & Pilot
  • Systems
  • Weather
  • Airport Operations
  • Airspace & Navigation

Each card tackles one concept at a time, making review easier, faster, and far less overwhelming.

Do these replace ground school?

No. Ground school (whether online or in person) is where you learn concepts for the first time. Flashcards are for review and retention, the missing ingredient that most courses don’t give you. By practicing active recall, you’ll lock in the knowledge long-term instead of passively rereading or rewatching material.

What’s your refund policy?

Simple: try them for 30 days. If you’re not satisfied for any reason, just let us know and we’ll refund your money in full. No questions asked.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment. The cards are designed around U.S. aviation regulations, airspace, and training standards, so they’re best suited for pilots flying in the U.S.

I have more questions. How can I reach you?

We’re happy to help. Email us anytime at hello@airplaneacademy.com and we’ll get back to you quickly.
